December Concert Reminders - 12.19.19



The time has come! We are excited to show off our hard work this coming Thursday!


Here are the important details:

  • The concert is THIS THURSDAY @ SEHS Auditorium

  • The concert will start promptly at 7pm

  • Students are required to wear the appropriate concert attire, as outlined in the band handbook (click here to view)

  • Students must be in their assigned auditorium seat no later than 6:45pm

  • Student attendance will be taken at 6:45. Students that arrive after 6:45 will have points deducted from their concert grade for each minute they are late.

  • Students are expected to stay for the duration of the concert. As part of their concert grade they are expected to demonstrate appropriate audience etiquette.

Here are some frequently asked questions (and answers) about the concerts:

  • What time is the concert? 7pm concert start time, students report by 6:45pm

  • Where is the concert? The concert will be held in the SEHS auditorium

  • What should I wear to the performance? See the band handbook (page 11)

  • Do I have to stay for the other groups after my portion of the concert is completed? Yes. All students deserve to perform for a full compliment of audience members. Students are expected to demonstrate appropriate audience etiquette as a portion of their concert grade is based on their role as an audience member.

  • Is it ok for me to have my cell phone with me while I am in the audience seats? No. Students that have any electronic devices out during other groups performance will have their device confiscated by a SEMS staff member and the students concert grade will be dropped for one letter grade.

  • Is the concert graded? Yes. The concert grade accounts for 30% of each students final quarterly grade. Please see the band handbook for details about concert grades (page 9)
